Star* Publish Times

Vol. 2, Ed. 8

Janie Lancaster recently held a booksigning at a Barnes & Noble store in Chula Vista, CA for her book Julie and the Lost Fairy Tale. The store was  located at Otay Ranch Town Center, 2015 Birch Road, Suite 700. Jason R. Wallen, Community Relations Manager at the store was in charge of the arrangements.
Janie reports as follows:
"Many teachers and children came from the 5 schools and 12 classes we had visited in the area that week.
Barnes and Noble invited me to come back and do another book signing in a couple of months and said they will get more advertising for the book signing.
My first signed book was for a little boy with a big smile and a warm handshake,  his name was Erick. I had met him at one of the schools that week. I think his face will be etched in my mind forever. Awesome!"
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so the Star* Publish Times is proud to let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Congratulations to Janie! What a great show!

Two California authors are planning to join forces with the "big-time players" in New York City for Book Expo America (BEA).
Robin Westmiller, author of Blood Tastes Lousy With Scotch, and Carolyn Howard-Johnson, author of Frugal Book Promoter, will both travel from their homes in CA to New York City for the annual event, which will occur on June 1-3, 2007, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
While BEA is not known for a place to make a lot of book sales, it is a great place to network with fellow authors, meet influential people in the book publishing industry and get your book into the hands of people who can help make it a success.
This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Alan Greenspan, who will kick off the events of the weekend on Fri., June 1, at 11 a.m.

One sure-fire way is to get a copy of Janet Elaine Smith's Patrick and Grace Mysteries. Start with In St. Patrick's Custody, Book No. 1, to meet the senior sleuths who are becoming America's No. 1 favorite couple. One reviewer said, "Patrick and Grace get into more trouble than a couple of two-year olds, but they have more fun than a barrel of monkeys getting out of it."
